The Inspectional Services Shop at Boston College oversees the inspection of our facilities conditions on campus, to ensure that Boston College provides a modern, clean, and safe environment for students, faculty, employees and visitors.

Carpet/Flooring Maintenance and Renewal The Inspectional Services shop evaluates the current conditions of all carpet and flooring on campus. Inspections are routinely made of Boston College properties, to determine if carpet replacement or repair is necessary. If you believe your area is in need of inspection, please submit a Work Order. Painting needs are also evaluated by Inspectional Services. Inspections include the review of both interior and exterior paint conditions. Deficiencies are identified and addressed in concert with the occupants schedule constraints. The Facilities Services Paint Shop is responsible for the implementation of painting needs on campus. During the summer, the shop focuses on Residence Hall restorations and preparations for the return of students. Throughout the year, the shop performs classroom improvements, special event preparation and support, academic building work and oversees all wall and ceiling restoration projects. An example of ceiling restoration work can be seen in Gasson Rotunda. The shop’s expertise ranges from fine detailed woodwork to restoring the walls in our most historic buildings. Office moves approved by the Office of Space Management, are inspected by Inspectional Services. An action plan is developed and executed to assure a smooth transition into a new work space by repairing wall surfaces and performing flooring renewals as necessary. | |
