Depending on weather, schedule is subject to change
The heating season is fast approaching and the mechanical shop has been preparing the necessary systems for the upcoming season.
The systems that will be started first will be the buildings that have heating systems separate from their cooling. This allows us to prep the systems for heating while still providing cooling. We have not quite finished with the cooling season and therefore need to be able to cool the buildings during hot weather. Most of the buildings have very large heating and cooling systems that are not easily switched off and on. Because of the complexity of the systems, our goal is to turn on the heating systems once. We are concentrating on student living areas and classrooms first. We will then concentrate on administrative buildings. The first buildings to be changed will be the Residence Halls because of the necessity to heat during the cool nights in early fall.
Our schedule is weather dependant, but we are making every effort to keep the campus comfortable in this ever-changing New England climate.
