Visitor Resources

A list of Boston area hotels and motels is available from the Office of the Dean for Student Development. It is advised that hotel reservations should be made at least one year in advance as there are more than 50 college and university commencements in the Greater Boston Metropolitan Area in May. It is strongly recommended to guarantee your reservation with a credit card. You may prefer to make your reservation through Central Reservation Service 617-569-3800 or 800-332-3026. You may conduct your own search through Google, Yahoo, SearchBoston.com or the Boston Convention & Visitors' Bureau at 888-SEEBOSTON or www.bostonusa.com.

University Hosts, identified by a maroon badge inscribed "University Host," and a straw hat will be stationed throughout the campus to provide any assistance that may be needed on Commencement Day.

Travel is extremely slow because of heavy traffic. If you drive, allow ample time for reaching the campus. Boston College is easily accessible by public transportation from most area hotels.

Guests should remember that there will be a lot of walking and stair climbing. Comfortable footwear is recommended. Since the University Commencement and a number of other ceremonies are held outdoors, it is suggested that guests also bring suitable protection against the heat of the day.

Guests and graduates are asked not to use cell phones during the ceremonies. Cell phone use during the ceremonies, including the procession across campus, is disruptive to guests, graduates and ceremony participants.

Medical Services will be available at the First Aid Station located on the ground level under Section U at the northeast (Gate E) corner of Alumni Stadium. In the event of rain, the First Aid Station behind Section O on the north concourse of Conte Forum will be available.

Rest rooms are located:
    Alumni Stadium
        Ground level on all sides
        Mezzanine level on the
            east (Boston) side
    Conte Forum
        Concourse level

Lost and found will be handled by the Boston College Police Department 617-552-4440.
