4. The Career Center Only Does Job Placement
Our recruiting program is a valued piece of the career center, but it is not everything. We help students find internships, offer self-assessment tools, and host many educational programs throughout the year.

5. I Want to Go to Graduate School so the Career Center Can't Help Me
The staff at the career center can help you find the graduate schools right for you, can assist you with the application process, and can educate you on how to get the most out of grad school once you get there. We also offer test prep resources.

6. Career Services Won't Be Available to Me After Graduation
Boston College alumni can use the career center throughout their lives. That means you can come to us a year after graduation or twenty years after graduation for help with job searches, career transitions, or self-assessment

7. Freshmen and Sophomores Can't Get Internships
Many internship employers require no prior work experience and are eager to hire freshmen and sophomores. While we would encourage you to enjoy at least your first semester or two at BC without an internship, you can certainly look for the summer after freshman year and for your sophomore year if you feel ready.
