The mission of the Boston College University Fellowships Committee is to encourage and assist Boston College undergraduates in competing for the most notable of undergraduate and graduate fellowships and scholarships—the Rhodes, Fulbright, Marshall, Churchill, Truman, and many others.

Steamboat Foundation
Steamboat Foundation is dedicated to cultivating tomorrow's leaders today,via two programs, its Summer Scholar Program, which provides outstanding students of financial need with a unique opportunity to work with acknowledged leaders, and its Special Grants Program, which provides one year grants for exceptional students and programs working for impoverished communities outside of the United States.

The Union Semester Program
New York Union Semester is a unique opportunity to learn about organized labor in a challenging environment. Through the field internship, students will become part of a union's staff for a semester while they study at Queens College.

The Tibor T. Bolgar Foundation
Named in honor of the late Dr. Tibor T. Polgar, a major contributor to the early development of the Foundation, this program provides a summertime grant ($3,800 for each fellowship) and limited research funds for up to eight college students (both undergraduate and graduate) to conduct research on the Hudson River.

Indicorps
Join a team of committed, talented Indians from around the world who are dedicating a year or more of their time engaged in intensive service for India's development. The Indicorps fellowship program seeks committed individuals with the experience, motivation and leadership potential to find constructive solutions to India's most pressing problems.

The International Radio & Television Society Foundation Fellowships
The Summer Fellowship Program,a student out-reach effort of IRTS, teaches up-and-coming communicators the realities of the business world through an all-expense-paid fellowship, which includes practical experience and career-planning advice.

The Pulliam Journalism Fellowship Program
Students must show interest in reporting, news design and graphics, or photojournalism to be chosen for this exciting and demanding fellowship program. Students will be treated like members of the newsroom and gain valuable journalism experience. They will also participate in writing workshops and learn from some of the best minds in journalism at luncheon discussions.

New York Women in Communications Inc. Foundation

Park Fellows Program
The goal of the DCR Park Fellows Program is to begin to identify and develop the next generation of the state park system’s workforce by engaging interested students in exploring
conservation and recreation careers through a summer of work and learning in the state parks.

The Library of Congress Junior Fellows Program
Fellows work with primary source materials and assist selected divisions of the Library organizing and documenting archival collections, doing bibliographical research and assisting in efforts to digitize its historical collections. Projects focus on subjects related to American history & literature, cataloging, film, television and radio, sound recordings, rare books and book arts, history of graphic arts, architecture, design, engineering, librarianship, music, or preservation.

The U.S. Department of State
The U.S. Department of State offers numerous opportunities, overseas or in Washington, DC, to acquire skills that will last a lifetime. A variety of programs, from summer clerical positions to management fellowships, allow students to participate in projects vital to the success of U.S. foreign policy.

Humanities

The Institute for Humane Studies (IHS)
The Humane Studies Fellowship awards scholarships to students who are exploring the principles, practices, and institutions necessary to a free society through their academic work. Explore other opportunities for fellowships through IHS on this site as well!

Charles G. Koch Summer Fellow Program, sponsored by the Institute for Humane Studies
Fellows explore market-based solutions to critical social and economic problems and gain the skills necessary to effect policy change. The program consists of an internship book ended by seminars to learn market-based policy analysis and its intellectual foundations, and then to present the results of research, while developing professional skills. Internships are either at one of the area's many research institutes developing market solutions to today's critical policy problems or at a public interest law firm defending economic and political liberties.

The Galbraith Scholars Program at Harvard
The goal is to focus attention on graduate school and career options for undergraduates who aspire to careers related to solving social problems. Students will attend an all-expense-paid five-day program at Harvard University led by Harvard faculty, doctoral fellows, and other invited speakers and social policy practitioners to explore range of social policy issues by participating in graduate-style seminars, panel discussions, workshops, off-site field trips, and collaborative activities.

The Gilder Lehrman American History Scholars Program
Students come to New York City in June for an intensive program in American history, including seminars with eminent scholars and historians in nonacademic fields, behind-the-scenes visits to important archives and museums in New York City, and participation in an original research project. Those selected will receive transportation costs, room and board, and a stipend. Runners up may be eligible for a shorter one week intensive program.

Humanity in Action Fellowships
Fellows focus on minority issues that affect cultural and national assumptions, political and educational institutions and human rights standards. Lectures, seminars and site visits in Copenhagen, Amsterdam or Berlin expose Fellows to leaders in human rights, particularly those concerned with the protection of minorities, and in resistance movements, specifically those that defied German minority policies during World War II.  Grants cover travel, accommodations and program costs.

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Papers Project Summer Research Fellowship
Working with the Project’s research staff under the guidance of Stanford history professor and senior editor of the King Papers, Clayborne Carson, students work on an eight-week program of research on King and the modern African American freedom struggle. Through this annual summer fellowship program, the King Papers Project engages students in every stage of the ongoing effort to preserve the historical legacy of the civil rights movement through the publication of Dr. King’s papers.

The National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Internship Program
The Summer Internships Program of the National Endowment for the Humanities introduces students to the programs, policies, and operations of the federal agency charged with promoting scholarship, education, and public programming in the humanities in the United States. During their ten-week stay in Washington, D.C., interns are assigned to an office of the agency to assist with daily work and participate in the intellectual life of NEH.

Undergraduate Student Scholars Program
The Undergraduate Student Scholars Program in the NIH Center for Molecular Studies in Digestive and Liver Diseases at the University of Pennsylvania is an organized program of summer lectures and presentations combined with basic research experience in the laboratory of an expert investigator. This program is open to students from the University of Pennsylvania as well as outside of the university, and the curriculum is designed specifically for undergraduate students with an interest in biomedical research, with the eventual goal of MD, PhD, or MD-PhD degrees.

Auschwitz Jewish Center
The AJC Institute’s Student Scholarship Program offers a unique opportunity for select college graduates and graduate students to learn first-hand about the rich, vibrant life of Jews in pre-War Poland, and develop projects and conduct programs on behalf of the Center. The intensive eight-week summer program in Oswiecim, Poland fosters personal growth and community activism as participants study the universal implications of the Holocaust.

Peggy Guggenheim Collection Internship
An interesting paid internship in Venice Italy whose goal is to provide an opportunity for students from different cultures to gain practical experience of museology and familiarity with an important collection of modern art. Students learn together in a creative international atmosphere and acquaint themselves with the life and culture of Venice. Must be fluent in Italian and English.
