MERC ~ Massachusetts Educational Recruiting Consortium Job Fair
Date: Thursday, April 23, 2009
Time: 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM (NOTE that many employers leave by 2:00 PM)
Location: Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center - Boston, MA

  • 100+ employers!
  • Public school districts from across the country will be attending to interview teacher and administrator candidates for positions at various levels and specializations throughout their system.
  • Other employers attending include charter schools, private schools and educational organizations.
  • The fair is designed to promote informal networking and introductions, as well as support formal interview schedules for the afternoon.
  • The event is open to BC students (from any major) and alumni ONLY. This is NOT a public event.
    • Photo ID is required at the door.
    • MERC packet from BC required (see below)

MERC Orientation Workshops - 20 minutes (each will be followed by a more general Job Search Strategies for Teacher Candidates Workshop (30 minutes)).

MANDATORY MERC Registration Packet
Interested students and alumni MUST get a MERC registration packet from the Career Center.

Alumni:

  • Email peter.hunt@bc.edu requesting the registration packet. You will receive an email with links to several registration documents.
Students:
  1. Go to https://bc-csm.symplicity.com/students/
  2. If you have not yet used EagleLink, click on Forgot Password - a new password will be sent to your BC email address.
  3. Once in EagleLink, click on Events (upper right), then on the Workshops tab.
  4. Scroll down to "MERC Education Job Fair Pre-Registration" and click on the RSVP button.
  5. You will receive an email with links to several registration documents.
  6. You MUST BRING the printed registration form, $10, and the nametag to the MERC fair.

    • NOTE - Use the "Detailed Search" to search for districts or anticipated openings. (The Basic Search seems go malfunction).
