Panel Presentations
Throughout the year presentations on various career fields are hosted by the Career Center. Communications Career Night, Science Night, Wall Street Day, and Career Launch are examples of large-scale programs targeting certain student audiences.

Externship Program
An externship or job-shadowing experience generally lasts one to five days in duration. It will provide students the opportunity to gain an understanding of a career or industry in a focused and informative setting and observe professionals in their work environments. It also encourages students, alumni and organizations to forge strong and valuable connections in a shared experience. The Externship Program is not for academic credit and students are not compensated, but the experience will be greatly beneficial to both the students and sponsors.
If you would like to participate, click here for more information.
If you have questions about the program, please contact the Boston College Career Center at (617) 552-3644 or via email at externship@bc.edu.
Please note: Externship dates/application will be updated in the late fall to reflect the 2010 winter externship experience. We are looking for externship sponsors in NYC and Boston.
Site Visits
For those students who are interested in careers in your industry, we offer site visits, during which you might offer an overview of the industry as well as a site tour.
If you would like to offer a site visit, please contact Janet Bates, Associate Director, at (617) 552-2089 or janet.bates.1@bc.edu.
Employers in Residence
Employers in residence commit to coming on campus on a regular basis to provide students with such services as resume critiques, practice interviews, and career advice. This is an excellent opportunity to develop ongoing relationships with students and to increase your presence or promote your organization on campus. Employers could come as often as every week or as infrequently as once a month.
If you are interested in becoming an employer in residence, please contact Marie Geary, Associate Director, at (617) 552-3633 or marie.geary@bc.edu.
Gifts & Sponsorships
Contributions of money or gifts in kind are always greatly appreciated at the Career Center. Examples of employer contributions in the past include: annual donations to support the resources in the career library; computer workstations for student access to on-line resources; scholarships and internship grants for AHANA students; publications for student and employer use.
To discuss ways in which your organization might contribute to the Career Center's resources, please contact Theresa Harrigan, Director, at (617) 552-3435 or theresa.harrigan@bc.edu.
