CAREER FAIR INFORMATION   

The annual Boston College Career Fair has been scheduled and our students are looking forward to meeting you! Please join us:

Set up begins any time after 12:00 PM

More than 1600 undergraduate students and 120-150 employers participate in this career fair annually. Students who attend represent the four colleges: the College of Arts & Sciences, the Lynch School of Education, the Connell School of Nursing, and the Carroll School of Management. Boston College students will seek out opportunities for internships and full-time jobs.  Employers continue to report that Boston College students are a favorite in the workplace because their work displays service-orientation, a liberal arts education, leadership qualities, and moral and ethical values.

The Career Center strives to represent a variety of industries in order to appeal to the different interests of the students. We hope you'll join us.

COST:

Sponsorship:

  • You are invited to be a Boston College Career Fair Sponsor. Your sponsorship will help us provide internship grants to AHANA students and to students seeking unpaid internships in not-for-profit organizations.
  • Sponsorship costs $1,000.00, which includes the cost of your table and strategically placed mention of your organization’s name in the program that will be given to all students attending the Fair.

For-profit organizations:

  • $400.00 through July 15, 2009.
  • $450.00 after July 15, 2009.

Not-for-profit organizations:

  • $100.00 through July 15, 2009.
  • $125.00 after July 15, 2009. 

Organizations wishing to cancel participation and receive a full refund must do so by September 2, 2009. Any cancellations made after that date will not be refunded.

Registration will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis.

AHANA RECEPTION INFORMATION    

Also scheduled on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 is the AHANA Reception, which will be held from 1:00-2:30 PM in the Murray Room of the Yawkey Athletics Center.

The goal of this reception is for Employers to meet with African American, Hispanic, Asian American and Native American (AHANA) students from Boston College and to discuss jobs, internships and career information.

What To Expect

  • Approximately 200-250 AHANA undergraduate students will attend this event prior to the Career Fair. They will be prepared to network with employers.
  • This event is a standing reception, where light refreshments will be served.
  • Students will be encouraged to bring their resumes and wear business attire.
  • It is not necessary to bring company literature to the AHANA Reception.

Registration for the AHANA Reception is required because space is limited.

  • Interested employers who are also attending the Career Fair can register on the same form through our online registration process.

SHIPPING INFORMATION FOR CAREER FAIR MATERIALS    

Shipping Materials to the Career Fair

IMPORTANT: Since we only have limited space for storage, we ask that you send your Career Fair materials so that WE RECEIVE THEM between September 8 and September 18. We can not guarantee that materials received after September 18 will be transported to the Career Fair location.

NOTE: We are not able to provide electrical outlets for back drops, displays, television monitors, lap top computers, or other equipment.

Return Shipping Instructions

If you are planning to ship materials back to your organization after the Career Fair on Tuesday, September 22, 2009, please follow the instructions below.

  1. Arrange for your carrier (FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc.) to arrive at the Conte Forum Athletic Center on Boston College's Lower Campus, Beacon Street side by 6:00 PM for pickup. Pre-arrange this or provide your representatives with the necessary telephone numbers so they can call from the fair.
  2. Bring necessary packing supplies with you to the Career Fair (tape, labels, markers, etc.)
  3. Bring completed self-addressed shipping labels for your packages.

NOTE: All material not shipped back to your organization will be discarded.

Check-In and Set-Up

  1. Set up begins any time after 12:00 PM.
  2. The Employer Entrance and Registration Site for the Career Fair and the AHANA Reception is located on the Beacon Street side of campus. See link below for directions, parking and campus map.
  3. You will receive your table assignment, name tag and employer packet at the Registration site. Please be sure to check in.
  4. Tables will be located around the concourse and on the hockey rink floor. Each table is a six-foot table with approximately one foot on either side.
  5. There will not be electrical outlets available and we cannot provide for audiovisual equipment.

Parking

  • Employers who are using taxi or car service for the Boston College Career Fair may be dropped off at Conte Forum, Beacon Street Entrance.
  • Limited parking will be available in the Beacon Street Garage. Please see the Directions and Approach Map for directions. As well, there will be signs on campus to direct you. Due to the limited parking on campus, we strongly urge you to use taxi or car service. Once the garage is full, all other vehicles will need to park on our adjacent Brighton campus.
