Americorps
AmeriCorps is the national service program that allows people of all ages and backgrounds to earn help paying for education in exchange for a year of service. AmeriCorps members meet community needs with services that range from housing renovation to child immunization to neighborhood policing. Currently, more than 25,000 AmeriCorps members serve in over 430 programs across the country.

Central Intelligence Agency
Includes good job descriptions in the Clandestine, Analytical, Professional and Technical categories. Co-op positions available. NB: The CIA tends to hire Software Engineers, Computer Science, and Information Systems individuals. They do not hire individuals from law enforcement. 

e-Scholar
Lists TONS of government internships, scholarships, fellowships, and grants for undergraduate and graduate students. The site also offers advice on creating resumes that will appeal to government employers. They also provide an Agency Information Gateway, with links to employment opportunities at a large number of agencies. (Don't be fooled by the "StudentJobs" label - most links are for jobs and internships for anyone.)

Federal Bureau of Investigation
Homepage - Internships available. NB: The FBI tends to hires individuals who are anywhere from mid twenties to thirties who have some law enforcement backgroud. They do hire Accounting, Information Systems, and Law students straight after graduation.
