The Walking Escort Service provides nightly on-campus safety walks to members of the Boston College community. The BC Walking Escort Service will provide members of the BC community with an added means of safety, while encouraging increased usage of campus facilities at night. The Walking Escort Service is intended to be used from one on-campus location to another on-campus location. In addition, the Walking Escort Service assists in the dispatch of the Van Escort Service.
Successful applicants will be scheduled to work for one night per week. Each night, there will be a total of five walking escorts to provide service between 7 p.m. and 2 a.m. One walker each night will need to stay until 3 a.m. to assist the BCPD with van dispatch.
The Service is looking for several dedicated and reliable students who will help maintain the high level of safety at Boston College. To apply for a walking escort position, please prepare the following information:
- A list with your name, expected year of graduation, major, Eagle ID number, permanent mailing address, Fall 2007 address, cell phone number and campus phone number.
- A resume, if available, or a list of prior work experiences.
- A brief statement (no more than two paragraphs) describing your interest in the position.
- All applicants will be submitted to a background check by the BCPD. If you have been involved in any incidents on or off campus, please submit an additional page explaining your involvement in the incident.
