Server Controls

The server is hacked into and confidential information is exposed.

• Security vulnerability scans should be performed on a regular basis and corrective action should be taken.
• All unnecessary services should be disabled.
• Administrator access should be restricted.
• The most recent service pack should be applied.
• The system administrator should be appropriately trained and a backup administrator should be appointed.

The server is infected with a virus and cannot perform normal operations.

• Anti-virus software should be installed on all servers and updated regularly.
