An award winning consumer editor, Lyons was honored with the Consumer Federation of America's prestigious Outstanding Consumer Media Service Award in 1991 and the National Press Club's Journalism Award for Best Investigative Reporting.
Lyons is a contributing writer on consumer issues for the national magazine Ladies' Home Journal and is also a regular contestant with her husband, Arnie Reisman, on National Public Radio's weekly comedy quiz show "Says You." Prior to her television career she worked in various capacities for the city of Boston including press secretary to Mayor Kevin H. White, assistant director of the Mayor's Office of Communications and deputy director of the Office of Federal Relations. She has also worked as a teacher in Boston and the American School of Buenos Aires in Argentina.
Lyons holds a bachelor of science degree from Newton College of the Sacred Heart and a masters degree from the University of Massachusetts. She lives in the Greater Boston area with her husband.
