The Boston College Arts Council and the BC Alumni Association invite you to attend A Taste of The Festival at the Arts Festival: Saturday, April 25, 2009.

The arts programs at Boston College have continued to grow and flourish. This event gives alumni an opportunity to experience the increasing diversity, scope, and quality of the arts programs at Boston College as well as to reconnect with the university and each other.

A Taste of The Festival is a festive occasion to celebrate the arts. Get a "taste" of the events that happen over the three days of the festival - with music, art, dance, and theater events throughout the evening. The event also includes the presentation of the Arts Council Alumni Award to award-winning poet Dr. Brendan J. Galvin '60. Tickets are $40 and include the dinner reception and choice of feature event at 8:00 p.m. - the university presentation of Sweet Charity or the performance Dancing with the bOp!.  In addition, the McMullen Museum of Art's spring 2009 exhibition The Book as Art: Artists' Books from the National Museum of Women in the Arts will be open for extended hours and a Liturgy  starting at 4:30 p.m. will be available for interested alumni.

Also on display in Higgin's Atrium is a two-channel video piece fragmenting a large geyser, creating a new relationship between expectations, anticipation and reward. BC premiers this work Geyser by Georgie Friedman as a part of the Boston Cyberarts Festival. Artist's talk and reception on Saturday April 25 at 4:30 p.m.
