Goal: present artists on campus with another venue to exhibit their work and artistic talents. Share your talents while giving a gift to the Arts Festival—design a t-shirt!
Prizes: Winner will have their design printed on
t-shirts sold at the Bookstore and the Arts Festival. Winner will receive
free t-shirts to share with
friends (prize sponsored by UGBC). Last year's winning design by Tim McCool sold out in the bookstore.
Timeline:
To be determined.
- T-Shirt design should celebrate and promote the arts or any particular art form.
- You can use words, but they are not required.
- Images should be clear, easy to understand, and reproduce well.
- All work must be free of copyright and cannot include any copyrighted logos.
- The subject matter, words, and drawings on the t-shirt must be “family friendly” and suitable for all audiences.
- Artists can include their signature in the design.
Design Specifications:
- T-shirts will be short-sleeved.
- You can use up to 3 ink colors with or without halftones.
- Designs should be done for the back of the t-shirt only, not including the sleeves. [The t-shirt will say “Boston College Arts”.]
Evaluation Criteria:
- Clarity of design
- Artistic quality and originality
- Use of the t-shirt as a canvas
* The Selection committee will consist of faculty/staff from the Bookstore, Fine Arts department and Arts Festival as well as students from UGBC and the Art Club.
Eligibility:
- Artists must be current students of Boston College.
To Submit a Design:
Submit the following materials to the Arts Council Office (Devlin 420) by February 22:
- Completed Submission Form
- Brief artist statement discussing your goals for the design.
- A hardcopy color print of the design
- A digital copy of the design in EPS format (CD clearly labeled with your name).
