How can I apply for OTE?

   Why is the program mandatory?

Due to the challenging educational and financial circumstances our selected students have faced, the OTE Selection Committee believes that a transitional program will help to equip students with the tools necessary to succeed at Boston College.

How much does this program cost?

The classes, campus housing and meals during the program are free.  You will need to bring personal spending money for any other needs during the program.

When does the program begin and end?

Everyone must check in on Sunday, June 2st1 for the Opening Ceremony.  The program will officially end with the Closing Ceremony on Friday, August 7th.   Additional information will be provided in the OTE Student/Parent Handbook.

Can I go home on weekends?

Students are expected to participate in ALL events, including Saturday outings.  If you live locally, you can check out after the Saturday event, but must be back by Sunday 5pm.  We have one free weekend when students can plan to go home.

What if I have another commitment during the six weeks (graduation, wedding)?

Students must talk to the Director of the program about any specific circumstances which may require an exemption to missing any part of the program.

Session 3, June 22nd to June 24th.

What classes will I take during the program?

All OTE students will be enrolled in English, Math, Oral Communication/Contemporary Social Issues and the BC 101 Seminar.  Maximum of two courses can be counted for college credit at BC.
