Apply to the MSW Program

Our Master in Social Work program lets you focus on either clinical or macro social work practice with concentrations in the following areas:

Children, Youth and Families
Global Practice
Health and Mental Health
Older Adults and Families

Choose a two-year full-time program or a three- or four-year program that spreads your coursework over three to four years.

If you're interested in pursuing a career at the intersection of social work and law, business, or theology and ministry, you might want to consider one of our dual-degree programs.

Boston College undergraduate majors in Sociology, Psychology, and Applied Psychology/Human Development may apply for our five-year Bachelor of Arts and Master of Social Work program.

Apply to the PhD Program

Our Doctoral Program prepares you for a career of teaching and research at distinguished universities that advances the practice of social work and addresses the most important social welfare issues of our day.
