The Theology and Ministry Library (TML) is the newest Boston College library. Serving the research, teaching, learning, and pastoral formation needs of the School of Theology and Ministry and Saint John's Seminary, the library's collections are centered in biblical studies, Catholic theology, history, canon law, and Jesuitana. The TML is a member library of the Boston Theological Institute Libraries and Resources Network whose libraries' combined collections number nearly a million and a half volumes in theology and related disciplines.

In addition, because of its close relationship to the highly respected New Testament Abstracts which are edited and published at Boston College, the library is a depository of virtually all significant international publications in New Testament and related fields.

Facilities

Equipped with several public computers and a computer lab, the library offers wireless internet access, printing, scanning and photocopying; and TML librarians provide a full range of services and assistance in the use and understanding of library resources. 

Workshops

This semester TML Librarians are offering a series of research and technology workshops specially designed for Theology students.  Unless otherwise noted, all workshops will be an hour long and held in either the second floor classroom. Current workshop schedule

Study Carrel Reservations

School of Theology and Ministry students who are writing a thesis or dissertation may reserve a closed study carrel. Carrels are assigned on a first-come first-served basis. Carrel reservations and policies may be obtained at the TML Circulation Desk.

Group Study Rooms

The TML has several group study rooms of varying sizes. Groups of two or more may reserve a group study room by signing up at the Circulation Desk. If a room is not reserved, it is available for use by anyone who has access to TML.

Creagh Collection of Canon Law

The TML houses the Creagh Collection of Canon Law materials which are available for use by anyone who is—or is eligible to be—a Boston College Libraries borrower.

Access Hours:  10:00 AM – 4:00 PM Monday – Friday or by appointment.
Please schedule appointments at least 24 hours in advance.

Use of Creagh Collection Materials:

• A valid photo ID (Eagle ID, BTI ID, driver’s license) is required
• A library staff member will retrieve requested items from the Ryan Room
• Only one item may be used at a time
• Items must be used in the library's Current Periodicals Reading Room only
• Items must be returned directly to a library staff member
