The Oxford African American Studies Center is a comprehensive compendium focusing on the lives and events that have shaped African American and African history and culture. It includes more than 8,000 articles by top scholars in the field. OAASC recently added 600 new biographies from the recently published African American National Biography (AANB), produced in conjunction with the W.E.B. Du Bois Institute at Harvard University, and edited by Henry Louis Gates, Jr., and Evelyn Brooks Higginbotham. Additional biographies from the AANB will be added to the OAASC, in conjunction with Black History Month.
