Meet the Staff

angela desilva

Angela DeSilva is a third-year doctoral student at Boston College in the Counseling, Developmental, and Educational Psychology program. She earned her masters degree in mental health counseling at Boston College, as well. Angela is an affiliate member of the American Psychological Association and APA’s Division 17 (Counseling Psychology). Angela began her work with ISPRC in the fall of 2005 as a graduate research assistant, assisting in the study of the academic achievement gap between “Black British” and “White British” students in Wolverhampton and Hackney England. She continues her work with the Institute by assisting in grant preparation, the Summer Training Program, and gathering data for a pilot study examining perceptions of images of Native Americans. Angela’s areas of research interest include social supports and mental health among immigrant groups as well as spirituality and belief in God among adolescents and young adults.
