2007-2008:
Buying Time for Peace - a 35-minute documentary film - Tuesday, November 6th at 4:30PM in Carney 104, presented by its producer, Bruno Donat, BC ’95, a communications officer from the World Bank
and a native of Mauritius. The film describes an ongoing UN/World Bank
project focused on the disarmament, demobilization, and reintegration
of combatants and child-soldiers in

Melanie Getreuer '04, who graduated in May with an International
Studies major and an East European/Russian Studies minor, will study the
effect of American financial assistance on the town of Novosibirsk, Russia.
Her future plans include graduate study in political science with a focus
on Eastern Europe.  Read

| Solar Power in Africa | ||

Christina Keller, an International Studies major who graduated
in May 2003, recently visited Uganda to work on rural electrification. She
is employed by the Environmental Resources Trust in Washington, D.C., where
she is office manager for the Solar Lights for Africa project. Her work
also has recently taken her to Milan, Italy, as a representative to the
recent United Nations Climate Change Conference. See photos of Christina from

Lydia Khalil, an International Studies major who graduated
in 2002, is working on the Policy Staff of Ambassador Paul Bremer in Iraq
for the summer. Lydia is currently pursuing graduate studies at Georgetown
University's School of Foreign Service and has worked at the White House
