The Observatory
Published monthly and distributed to institutional subscribers
• Reports - Internationally renowned authors are commissioned to prepare substantive reports on key issues in borderless higher education. The issues are both timely and provocative, challenging institutional leaders in their thinking and understanding of topics critical to strategic planning.
• Briefing Notes - Briefing Notes, produced in-house, either provide an essential grounding on emerging issues, or showcase original Observatory research. Topics selected are those that challenge the boundaries of higher education, and particularly those expected to impact the core business of universities and colleges.
• Breaking News - The Observatory team tracks a wide range of news sources to keep subscribers up-to-date with the latest developments in borderless higher education from across the world. We provide in-depth analysis of key developments and issues, and explore the significance for institutional strategies.
• Research findings - Tracking institutional trends is an important aspect of the Observatory's mandate. The Observatory's first international survey was undertaken in May 2002 exploring institutional strategies and infrastructure related to online learning. The survey will be conducted annually to provide benchmark data for institutions across the Commonwealth and beyond.
