Boston College has been awarded a $3.5 million grant from The Atlantic Philanthropies to assist GSSW faculty Kevin Mahoney in the establishment of a technical assistance center for consumer direction. more »
GSSW Assistant Professor Stephanie Berzin, Chair of the CYF concentration, has been selected to receive the prestigious 2009 Frank R. Breul Memorial Prize. The prize is awarded annually to the best article published in Social Service Review.

Cash & Counseling, a health care choice program for the elderly and people with disabilities, headed by GSSW professor Kevin Mahoney, has been awarded a $4.75 million grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Brenda G. McGowan MSW'66, has been appointed to the James R. Dumpson Chair in Child Welfare Studies at Fordham University Graduate School of Social Services. The appointment of Dr. McGowan acknowledges her leadership and groundbreaking scholarship in and continued service to the field of child welfare.
