What ARE the Dynamics?
The Boston College Dynamics are BC's premiere a cappella group. Formed in 1998, we have since matured into a renowned mixed collegiate a cappella group. We pride ourselves in providing humorous, entertaining, and musically challenging shows both locally and all along the East Coast. We always have fun and we always make sure our audiences do too!

How do I join?
The Dynamics hold auditions at the beginning of each semester in September and January. Auditions themselves are really chill and fun.

What is the Audition like?
It's really casual, stress-free stuff. We test your vocal range a bit, do some pitch-matching, and you sing us a song.

What song should I sing?
Whatever you are comfortable singing and you think shows off your voice. Honestly, we've gotten everything from God Bless America to a Chinese lullaby. Just keep in mind that we sing contemporary popular music, so you should probably enjoy singing those types of songs too. No criticism on musical taste from us. (P.S. We ask that you sing at least a verse and a chorus.)

I don't have a lot of experience. Should I even bother?
Yes!!! Only a few of our members are music majors or minors, and a good number don't read music. Only one or two of us have had extensive voice lessons and experience with other a cappella groups. So basically, it's not about what you have done with music or what you plan to do with it. Just that you enjoy singing and making great friends.

How will I know if I made the group?
We will announce callbacks and our newbies in the same way: we will post a list on the fourth floor of Lyons at the end of the hall where you'll find a large blackboard. Also, it will be posted on our website's mainpage. Callback list will be posted around midnight of the last day of auditions and the group list will be posted the morning after callbacks.
