TM 673 Seminar: The Cross in Christian Salvation (Fall: 3)

This seminar will deal with the question of the salvific meaning of Christ’s
suffering and death on the cross, as interpreted by major figures in the
Christian tradition (including Irenaeus, Athanasius, Anselm, Aquinas, Palamas)
and in modern theology (including von Balthasar, liberation theology, feminist
theology, Eastern Orthodoxy, and René Girard).
