Elective
An examination of community organization and political strategies for mobilizing
support for human services and other interventions that enhance social well-being,
especially that of vulnerable populations. The course emphasizes skill development
in strategies of community organization and policy change, including neighborhood
organizing, committee staffing, lobbying, agenda setting, use of media,
and points of intervention in bureaucratic rule making.
