SW 872 Advanced Clinical Interventions with Children, Youth, and Families (Fall/Summer: 3)

Elective
An advanced clinical course focused on the development of specific intervention
skills utilized with children and their families. Clinical practice skills
in individual, family, and group treatments highlight prevention and intervention
strategies that promote self-efficacy and resiliency. Specific skills include
parent management training, parent-child interaction therapy, solution-focused
therapy with children, adolescents, and their families, trauma-focused cognitive
behavioral therapy, and group therapy with children. Course structure will
utilize experiential skills labs to promote student skill acquisition.
