SW 872 Advanced Clinical Interventions with Children, Youth and Families (Spring: 3)

Required for Clinical Social Work students in Children, Youth and Families
Field-of-Practice Concentration; elective for others.
An advanced clinical course focused on the development of specific intervention
skills utilized with children and their families. Specific skills include
parent management training, parent-child interaction therapy, solution-focused
therapy with children, adolescents, and their families, trauma-focused cognitive
behavioral therapy, and prevention of youth violence and suicide. Course
structure will utilize experiential skills labs to promote student skill
acquisition.
