This first course in the adult-gerontology health practicum series concentrates
on the application of the clinical reasoning process used to assess, diagnose,
and treat common primary care and chronic illness problems of the adult
population throughout the lifespan. Emphasis is placed on the integration
of epidemiologic, genetic, environmental, social-political, and cultural
determinants that contribute to alterations in the health status of young,
middle and older adults. Health promotion, evidence-based practice, and
holistic health strategies are integrated to promote the optimal level of
being and functioning of adults across the lifespan.
