A German-language study and meditation group looking at: German-language liturgical texts and hymns; the German Bible; texts from pietistic and mystical writers, including church cantatas set by J.S. Bach; works of German theologicans, especially Hans Urs von Balthasar and Joseph Ratzinger; some Christian classics in German translation. This course requires a knowledge of German grammar sufficient to deal with texts of at least intermediate difficulty and a strong interest in exploring the riches of the German-language Christian spiritual tradition.
