FM 380 Latin American Cinema (Spring: 3)
Satisfies Cultural Diversity Core Requirement
This course will focus on contemporary film of Latin America from the Sixties
to the present. It will study diverse issues (political, cultural, literary,
social, gender, religious) of several Latin American countries. These films
will be shown to stand in strong contrast to the traditional and often stereotypical
image of Latin America and Hispanics fabricated by Hollywood.
