Course website: www.cs.bc.edu/~syu/art/ In this new course, we will bring neuroscience, psychology, computer science and visual art together in examining how we perceive light, color, motion, shape, material, depth and distance. This is a course on the contribution of visual perception to the generation and viewing of pictorial art, as well as the contribution of artistic rendering to the understanding of inner workings of visual sense. We will have guest lectures from both artists and scientists. Students will participate in scientific experiments as well as art productions, with projects tailored to students' majors.
