EN 221.08 Introduction to Creative Writing (Spring 2010-2011: 3)
This class introduces students to the rigorous challenges and rich rewards
of creative writing. Students write both poetry and fiction, reading many
contemporary models of each and focusing on the processes of continuous
writing, critiquing, and rewriting. Writing improves through much practice,
through the sensitive and attentive criticism, and through a growing confidence
in the power of the deep imagination.
