EN 080.03 Literary Forms (Fall 2008-2009: 3)
Satisfies Literature Core Requirement
This is a COMPARATIVE LITERATURE COURSE designed to explore forms
of story-telling from different languages and periods of history. Comparative
study entails both intractable and intriguing difficulties. It also offers
many opportunities. While our readings will be done in English, in order
to enhance our ability to make comparisons across different times and cultures,
we will give a good deal of attention to what goes on when things are carried
across from one era to another and from one language to another.
