Education Policy Committee
Evaluation of New Courses

The following motion was recommended to the Dean on May 25, 2005 by the full EPC and formally approved by the Dean on August 2, 2005.

It is moved that the new course offerings be evaluated by the proposed program in consultation with the Department Chair after they have run three times. Criteria for evaluation may include issues such as enrollment trends, student evaluations, budgetary considerations, or fit with the overall program. The evaluation materials will then be reviewed in a timely fashion by the EPC before the course is given approval. It is the responsibility of the Office of the Associate Dean to bring to the attention of the EPC, the relevant faculty member, and the Department Chair the need for review.
