Why did you choose Boston College?
The math department here is very close-knit and friendly; it's easy to get to know everyone, and all the professors are very approachable. Furthermore, Boston College has two world experts on hyperbolic geometry – Profs. Martin Bridgeman and Robert Meyerhoff. Finally, the PhD program incorporates seminars on how to teach, and, on the whole, our math department values pedagogy and not just research.
