Highlights of Sponsored Activities during 1994-1995



A total of 229 proposals were submitted in FY1995 which 

represents an 8% increase over the previous fiscal year. The 

total amount of funding requested for the entire project period 

of these proposals was $71,071,444.  There were 156 sponsored 

awards funded in FY1995 for a total of $19,480,283.  These 

numbers represent a new record for the highest number of awards 

and greatest amount of total funding received by the University.



Fiscal year 1995 activity showed a gratifying continuation of 

the improvement in sponsored project activity initiated in the 

previous fiscal year.  Not only did the number of proposals, 

awards, and funding actions increase, but the Office of Research 

Administration worked with a greater number of faculty from 

various disciplines in both proposal development and award 

administration.
