Highlights of Sponsored Activities during 1993-1994



A total of 212 proposals were submitted in FY1994 which 

represents a 3.4% increase over FY1993 (and a 26.9% increase 

over FY1992). The amount of funding requested for the total 

project periods of all proposals in FY1994 was $40,126,996.  

There were 149 sponsored awards funded in FY1994 for a total 

of $16,531,422.  This represented a 7% increase in the number 

of funding actions and a 23% increase in the amount awarded 

over FY1993.



Over the long term, a significant general upward trend in 

sponsored activities is expected at Boston College.  Not only 

are the number of proposals submitted and funding actions 

received increasing, but the Office of Research 

Administration is working with a larger number of faculty, 

both at the proposal stage and through the duration of the 

sponsored projects awarded to the University.
