Dawei Chen, who joined Boston College's Department of Mathematics in 2011, was previously a research assistant professor at the University of Illinois, Chicago.
An algebraic geometer with broad interests, Chen centers his research on the geometry of moduli spaces. He is the author of several publications, including "Square-tiled surfaces and rigid curves on moduli spaces," published last year in Advances in Mathematics.
