BC has site licenses for student and faculty home use for the research software listed on this page. For use on a BC-owned computer, please contact your Technology Consultant (TC) to schedule a time to install the software.

Many of the applications on this page are also available on the BC Application Server, which means you don't have to download and install them on your personal computer.

ArcView 9.3 for Windows

Mathematica

Matlab

Boston College has a site license for Matlab. Students and faculty may download and install it on their home computers. This software is available for Windows and Mac. Do not duplicate or replicate downloaded software.

IBM SPSS (PASW)

Note: Effective June 30, 2012, SPSS will no longer be available through BC for installation on student home computers. The license will expire on existing home computer installations. Learn more about new options for SPSS on student home computers.

Boston College has annual site licenses for IBM SPSS 19 for both Macs and PCs. BC students, faculty, and researchers may download and install an annual license on their home (non BC-owned) computers for use with BC-related work only. Do not duplicate or replicate downloaded software.

Write-N-Cite

Write-N-Cite adds an abbreviated version of RefWorks to your word processor to display author, title, and year only. With this utility you can cite references in a manuscript with the click of a button. Do not duplicate or replicate downloaded software.
