December 2010: Health and Environment Discussion

On December 2, 2010, faculty from across the university met to explore interdisciplinary boundaries around Health and the Environment.  Rosanna DeMarco (CSON) and Rachel Spector (CSON, retired) opened the discussion.  Dr. Spector emphasized the value of witness: she regularly took nursing students to incinerator site, landfills and sewage treatment facilities.  Dr. DeMarco described the Ecological Model articulated by Bronfenbrenner, that echoes several models of sustainability, from the perspective of public health.
