Abstract:
As the ongoing national discourse on immigration and immigration policy continues, little effort has been paid to understanding the arguments presented by proponents or opponents of immigration reform. This presentation focuses on two dimensions of the discourse; analyzing the visual and linguistic arguments present in flag waving at immigration protests and in President Bush's language on border control and guest workers.
