About:
Dr. Hosffman Ospino was born in Colombia where he pursued undergraduate studies in Philosophy. He taught philosophy and religion at various academic levels and worked for the National Confederation of Catholic Education of Colombia. He holds an MA in theology with concentration in Church History and a PhD in Theology and Education from Boston College.
Dr. Ospino’s research concentrates on the dialogue between theology and culture and the impact of this interchange upon Catholic theological education, catechesis, and ministry. He has lectured nationally and internationally on these areas. He and his wife, Guadalupe, are actively involved in Hispanic Ministry in Boston.

Current Research Projects:
Principal Investigator for the two-year (2011-2013) National Study of Catholic Parishes in the United States (NSCPHM). Results from the study will be released at the end of 2013.
Co-investigator for the CRUZA project, a research initiative in collaboration with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Mauricio Gastón Institute at UMASS to foster partnerships with Catholic churches to prevent cancer among Latinos living in Massachusetts.
Presently writing a book on Catholic multicultural congregations (Fordham University Press) and a Catechetical Manual for Parishes Leaders working in Hispanic Ministry (Liguori Publications).

The book is a one volume resource in English and Spanish. Dr. Ospino wrote the chapter on Hispanic Ministry, Religious Education, and Evangelization and co-authored the essay on Hispanic Ministry and Leadership Formation.
