Job Summary: Under direction of and collaboration with the Vice President for Mission and Ministry, supervises all campus ministry programs and efforts to help students of the University develop and grow in their adult faith, as members of the University community.
CHARACTERISTIC JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include any and/or all of the following:
- Develops, reviews and manages and provides assessment goals and objectives, implementation of strategic plans, in coordination with the Division of Mission & Ministry and the University.
- Develops, in conjunction with campus ministry staff, an annual program and evaluation of services, budget, programs and events, integrating Campus Ministry into the life of the larger University community.
- Recruits, hires, supervises, and evaluates Campus Ministry staff, and provides ongoing professional development and training as needed; provides oversight for the campus ministry office and budget, and performs other administrative duties.
- Works closely with other University Mission and Ministry and other University departments providing student services and opportunities, including interfaith outreach, and with the pastor and staff of St. Francis Xavier (College) Church and the Archdiocese of St. Louis, as/if needed and appropriate.
- Assesses, implements, and evaluates programs to address the changing needs of students.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
- Practicing Roman Catholic
- Knowledge and experience of the Jesuit and Catholic traditions of higher education
- Knowledge and experience of Ignatian/Jesuit spirituality
- Knowledge and experience of Catholic social teaching
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience with program development, implementation and evaluation
- Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, leadership and managerial skills
- Strong interpersonal/human relations skills
- Ability to articulate the Catholic, Jesuit mission of the University
- Ability to work with people of many cultures, ethnicities and religious traditions
- Computer proficiency, including email, Microsoft Excel and Word, and Internet
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and experience equivalent to:
Master's degree in divinity, theology, ministry, or equivalent; supplemented with three (3) years of comparable supervisory experience in a college or university ministry setting. Student outreach experience and grant development experience is desired.
