Summary of Essential Job Duties:

*Be a ministerial presence and provide pastoral care and programing to the LMU graduate student population.

*Create and facilitate weekly programming for LMU graduate students centered in spirituality, community and service. This programming will be varied in regards to content and structure. Work to build a faith-based community of friends who have the opportunity to socialize, pray, serve and share with one another.

*Collaborate with and participate in GSLMU events when appropriate and possible (discuss these events with your supervisor in conjunction with your calendar and other Campus Ministry responsibilities).

*Engage graduate students through regular visible presence in UHall during graduate student class breaks. Be available for conversation and pastoral care. Refer students as necessary (e.g. Spiritual Direction or SPS). Brainstorm with graduate students about programing.

*Develop engaging and comprehensive publicity with the help of the Campus Minister for Publicity and Outreach to educate LMU graduate students regarding the programs Campus Ministry offers.

*Develop and propose a clearly defined budget for graduate student ministry to the Director of Campus Ministry.

*Organize graduate student CLC groups, as needed.

*Offer two annual one day retreats for graduate students.

*Attend and invite graduate students to attend any LMU days of service within the academic year.

*Assess graduate student programming bi-annually and formally survey graduate students annually regarding needs and desires.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of Ministry experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in the areas of Ignatian spirituality, young adult faith and leadership formation, active listening and interpersonal skills and vocational discernment.
  • Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral) evidenced by background in preparing comprehensive reports and executive summaries incorporating complex, highly technical information.
  • Highly developed organizational and leadership skills.
  • Understanding of and proven experience in team ministry
  • Demonstrated computer competency and preferably knowledgeable of all Microsoft and Adobe suite programs.

Required Education:

  • Master’s Degree in Pastoral Theology or Pastoral Counseling or equivalent experience. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.
