Duties And Responsibilities & Minimum Requirements:

Worship & Liturgy Coordinator provides programmatic and administrative support for worship programs in the Office of Campus Ministry at Georgetown University. Reporting to the Director of Liturgy and Music, the Coordinator participates in sacramental team meetings and assists with collaborative work of the team. Also a member of the larger Campus Ministry team, the Coordinator works with members of the Catholic Chaplaincy, program coordinators, and student leaders. Duties include but are not limited to:

Promote Participation in Liturgy

·  Manage preparations for all Sunday liturgical celebrations, working with Director of Liturgy and Music and student coordinators/sacristans.

·  Staff the daily 12:10pm Mass in Dahlgren Chapel.

·  Prepare, set up, schedule, and coordinate liturgical ministries for all University wide liturgical celebrations.

·  Oversee development of weekly bulletin.

·  Work with other University staff to develop and maintain programming.

Foster Student Involvement in Liturgical Ministries

·  Actively recruit student participation on a continuing basis in liturgical ministries for all Catholic services, and motivate and grow student leadership at each Mass.

·  Create an atmosphere of ministry in collaboration with members of Catholic Chaplaincy Team, providing formation for acolytes, lectors, Extraordinary Ministers, ushers, sacristans, coordinators.

·  Serve as student resource for liturgical ministry as member of Catholic Chaplaincy Team.

University Chapels

·  Manage liturgical supplies and overall care of all University sacristies and Chapels.

·  Maintain order and cleanliness, and manage maintenance issues (sound, lights, equipment) as well as other needs for main campus Chapels (Dahlgren, Copley Crypt).

·  Coordinate liturgical supplies as needed at Medical School, Hospital, Law Center, Retreat Center, and Protestant Chaplaincy (St. William Chapel).

·  Care for linens and vestments in Chapels on the main campus and linens in hospital Chapel.

·  Coordinate student workers in filling requests and Chapel needs.

Sacramental Celebrations

·  Collaborate with Wedding Coordinator on needs for wedding celebrations.

·  Serve as contact for weddings and schedule routine wedding requests in the Chapels; Refer special cases to Director of Liturgy and Music, Director of Sacramental Preparation, or Chaplaincy Director as required; schedule the chapel for routine requests from engaged couples.

·  Collaborate with Wedding Coordinator on management of wedding files, including documents, confirmation letters, and fees, delegation (as needed), notifications, Archdiocesan and Marriage Bureau requirements, and disposition of completed records.

·  Serve as point of contact for and schedule Baptisms in main campus Chapels, and refer special cases as required.

·  Create and manage baptism files including letters, donations, and filing of completed records.

Department Support and Collaboration

·  Participate in Campus Ministry staff meetings and events, and represent Campus Ministry on University committees as needed.

·  Collaborate with Campus Ministry staff on faith-specific and interfaith events.

Administrative and Operational Support

·  Provide admin and operational support to the Director of Liturgy and Music.

·  Reconcile financial transactions and track liturgy and music budget.

REQUIREMENT

·  Bachelor’s degree in theology or related area, or equivalent training/experience.

·  Professional or volunteer experience in liturgical ministry in a Catholic Community.

·  Deep understanding of and appreciation for the worship life of the Roman Catholic Church, the liturgical renewal of the Second Vatican Council, and recent documents on the liturgy.

·  Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and basic Excel, skill in web content, and social media management.

·  Ability to work well and collaboratively with colleagues of other faith traditions, to take initiative on projects involving several staff members or chaplaincies, and to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

·  Ability and willingness to travel around campus to the various Chapels, and to work with set up and take down of materials for University Liturgies, to include lifting and carrying materials from one site to another.
