Part-time Youth Minister

Holy Name Parish in West Roxbury, MA has an immediate need for a Youth Minister for its High School Youth Ministry Project.

Job Description:

-        Paid part-time position/ 5 hour per week

-        Position is supervised by designated Holy Name Parish Staff designee

-        Organize and monitor correspondence for youth, youth leaders, adult leaders and parish staff

-        Supervise youth leadership. 

-        Assist in selection of work sites and communications with site administrations. Lead and participate in monthly service work with students (primarily weekends).  Coordinate with adult volunteers on a week-long service trip (dates TBD)

-        Coordinate with youth, youth leaders and adult leaders for social activities and fundraisers. Help youth leadership run monthly meetings on Sundays.

-        Coordinate with parish staff to oversee adult volunteer certification (CORI and VIRTUS)

-        See to the distribution and collecting of Youth Service Project (YSP) applications and all requisite forms for travel

NB: This job description is subject to change as the YSP develops and grows.  All job expectations are to be discussed and agreed upon by YSP Coordinator and Holy Name staff supervisor.

Qualifications and Skills
Demonstrated ability to reach youth
Experience in the faith formation of youth
Well grounded in the Catholic faith, and faithful to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church
Living a sacramental life
Education appropriate for the position
