Position Summary:  Under general supervision of the Catholic Campus Minister, the Program Coordinator works with the Campus Minister to enhance the ministry and programming of the Wake Forest Catholic Community. 

Essential Functions:

·         Develops, organizes, and coordinates campus ministry programming and calendar of events:  scheduling procedures, website and database management, service trip and retreat arrangements, student organizational efforts, appointments and meetings, team projects, and hospitality.

·         Prepares departmental and promotional materials, including; bulletin, newsletters, applications, website maintenance, displays, brochures, and presentations.

·         Develops and implements programs for student involvement in local service opportunities.

·         Assists students in facilitating socials and activities for the community, including weekly community dinners.

·         Participates in the Christian Campus Ministries Pre-Orientation Conference, in the Christian Campus Ministry staff meetings, and in the Office of the Chaplain Staff meetings.

·         Assists with student participation in Diocesan activities, including Eucharistic Congress, Give Your Heart Away Weekend, Catholic Leadership Training, and Spring break trip.

·         Acts as sacristan for all Sunday Masses and coordinate Liturgical Ministers for Mass.

·         Assists Catholic Campus Minister as requested.

·         Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree (Religious Studies/Theology preferred).  Campus Ministry/Youth ministry experience desired.  Working knowledge of Catholic Social Teaching and service-learning highly desirable.  Must be knowledgeable about Church teachings and liturgical practices.

·         Ability to communicate and interact effectively in a cross-cultural, multi-religious environment.

·         Strong communication, organizational, and problem solving skills.

·         Ability to respond pastorally and develop excellent rapport with young adults and colleagues.

·         Must be able to handle multiple assignments, address needs and conflicts as they arise.

·         Working knowledge of computer software applications including desktop publishing, word processing, presentations, spreadsheet and database management.  Social media proficiency and web page construction is highly desirable.

·         Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with great discretion.
