The Assistant Director, University Ministry for the Office of Religious Diversity (ORD) in University Ministry will assist the Director of Office of Religious Diversity (ORD) in the day to day leadership and management of the department, while assuming leadership responsibility for one or more key program areas, as well as cross-departmental and collaborative programs emerging out of ORD and the University Ministry area of the Division of Student Affairs. This position will take primary responsibility for ORD's evaluation and assessment of programs, as well as the supervision, formation, and support of student leaders/workers. S/he will participate as a member of the University Ministry leadership team in monthly meetings and related tasks.

- Assist the Director in the leadership and management of ORD as assigned and directed.
- Assist Director with completion of task and responsibilities related to the department participation in Division of Student Affairs.
- Assist the Director with budget management, planning and tracking.
- Assist with Staff development.
- Assist with Interfaith Programming.
- Assist Loop Campus Ministries (which include Chaplain responsibilities for two or more identified colleges).
- Participate in UMIN Leadership meeting monthly with AVP, Directors and Assistant Directors.
- Assume leadership role for ORD in absence of or at the request of the Director.
- Develop and initiate collaborative programs and partnerships with other areas/departments and other Assistant Directors of University Ministry, as well as other Student Affairs and Academic Affairs departments and individuals, as applicable.
- Develop and oversee key collaborative and strategic cross-departmental, cross-divisional, and cross-institutional programs operating out of department.
- Assess and evaluate programs and initiatives in RDL, which include knowledge of related research and best practices.
- Lead one or more cross-functional teams within University Ministry across UMIN depts/offices.
- Lead and execute 2 or more identified key program(s) areas for the area/department; to be coordinated in partnership with Director.
- Lead staff and faculty peers/colleagues and capacity to work collaboratively with University staff, faculty and administration.
- Lead public prayer or ritual.
- Supervise and/or provide guidance to students or other professional staff and act as team lead on projects in the department or division.
- Supervise the compliance of student leaders/workers operating within area.
- Aid the University community in developing its understanding, integration and application of religion, theology, and spirituality with daily life and college student development.
- Ensure adequate supervision, support, formation, and compliance of all student workers and student leaders in ORD.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Masters degree in Education/Training in Ministry/Theology.
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years experience in the ministry field with young adults/college students or a similar environment.
- Technological Proficiency, including word-processing and database software.
- Experience and skills in interfaith/inter-religious dialogue and programming.
- Experience in assessment and evaluation of ministry program.
- Pastoral care skills, particularly with young adults (eg. Dealing with persons in crisis situations, offering pastoral support and guidance).
- Articulate public speaker and writer, particularly on matters of faith/religion, the integration of faith and justice, and the University's Catholic-Vincentian mission to a diversity of constituency groups.
- Training and/or experience in interfaith dialogue and collaboration.
- Clear evidence of past leadership role in a successful ministry programming.
- Identify gaps and needs in pastoral/spiritual care of students, develop and adapt accordingly.
- Capacity to relate well with and to mentor/supervise young adults/college students.
- Committed to a particular faith tradition, community, and practice.
- Familiarity with data analysis, budgeting and event planning.
- Ability to travel between campuses to meet with University partners.
- Ability to work some weekend and evening work.
