Assistant Director, Justice Education and Immersions

Responsibilities

The Assistant Director for Justice Education and Immersions promotes a faith that does justice in the exploration of Catholic Social Thought, the lived experience of direct service opportunities, and deep reflection and prayer as a means of processing and integrating the content of service and intellectual engagement.

 

In addition to coordinating existing, and developing new, service immersion programming, the Assistant Director serves the campus as a resource for the body of Catholic Social Thought and the Lasallian priority of a preferential option for the poor.

 

Experience and Qualifications:

Required: Bachelors degree in education, theology, non-profit administration, law, politics, or other related field.

 

Preferred: Masters Degree in any of these fields.

 

Experience: 3+ years experience in a Catholic educational setting facilitating justice education, immersions, service opportunities or similar work. Previous experience and success with ongoing service projects and programs,  and other academic initiatives that address Catholic Social Teaching. Proven  experience and success in designing, delivering and assessing student leadership training and formation.

 

Skills/Abilities: Proven ability to lead conversations, reflections, prayer, community building and program development around topics and experiences pertinent to social justice and Catholic Social Teaching.  Experience  with tracking budgets, developing communications to promote programming, awareness and engagement, and managing databases.  Conversational Spanish highly desirable.
