Assistant Chaplain of Arrupe Immersion Program

The Office of the College Chaplains seeks an Assistant Chaplain to join a 10 person team beginning August 1, 2014. Primary responsibilities include coordination and direction of the Arrupe Immersion Program. The Arrupe Immersion Program is a faith based program responding to the call to work for peace and justice in the world. This call is central to the Christian Scriptures and to the Jesuit mission of the College of the Holy Cross. International experiences include Haiti, Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua and a Spring Break Domestic Program involving 300 students traveling to 27 sites throughout the United States.
The Assistant Chaplain will be responsible for overseeing all the financial aspects of the programs including collection of fees, administering financial aid, marketing, coordination of all logistics, training of leaders, preparation of student volunteers, and coordination of post immersion retreat experiences. This position also includes special responsibility for pastoral outreach to the Catholic Latino community on campus and other pastoral duties of the College Chaplains.
Master of Divinity or equivalent.
Fluency in Spanish, ability to travel internationally twice annually, availability for weekend work and 1-2 work evenings per week, and a commitment to the Jesuit and Catholic mission of the College.
