Assistant Principal for Ministry

Brophy College Preparatory

Brophy College Preparatory shares this prime educational objective with Jesuit schools all over the world.  Every faculty member at Brophy is expected, above all else, to nurture in our students this love of God and neighbor.  However, it is the particular responsibility of the Assistant Principal for Ministry to develop and direct activities that are specifically oriented toward developing a love of God made manifest in love of neighbor.

Brophy is currently accepting resumes and letters of interest from candidates interested in becoming Brophy’s next Assistant Principal for Ministry, beginning in August of 2014.  Interested candidates must be active Catholics who possess the relevant academic training, professional / ministerial experience, and personal spirituality to fulfill the below responsibilities.

The Assistant Principal for Ministry directs the Office of Faith and Justice (OFJ), is a member of the Administrative Team, and reports directly to the Principal.

Duties:

As the Director of the OFJ, the AP for Ministry’s responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Articulate and regularly evaluate the mission and direction of the OFJ and its activities as they relate to and support the overall mission of the school.

As a member of the school’s Administrative Team, the AP for Ministry’s responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Attend weekly administrative meetings and function as advocate for the ministerial and social justice dimensions of the school.

Provide ministerial leadership to the school community both on a proactive basis (leading the community in advocacy efforts) and on a reactive basis (leading in response to certain events – both tragedies in the community and events in the world that merit a response from the Brophy community.)

Serve on boards and committees within and outside of the school to promote and represent the school and the various ministries in which our students and faculty participate.
